Mapkalo updates for ATS 1.60 and reaches San Jose de la Montana

New Mapkalo update prepared for the ATS 1.60 beta: San Jose de la Montana, Finca de los Tetrapolitos, remastered Barbosa-Yarumal route, downloads, and an important 1.59 server note.

There is a new Mapkalo update on MundoATS. The map was updated on June 7 and now works toward the American Truck Simulator 1.60 stage, with route progress, visual improvements, and important notes for the community.

Important clarification to avoid confusion: ATS 1.60 is still in open beta. Even though Mapkalo has been updated and can work with that stage, the MundoATS server is still running on ATS 1.59 because there is not yet a stable/public 1.60 server version available. The server will move when SCS releases the public stable version on Steam.

This article summarizes the key points for the MundoATS community: what changed in Mapkalo, what to check before downloading, how the 1.59 server fits during the beta, and what ATS 1.60 brings according to the official Steam/SCS announcement.

Mapkalo reaches San Jose de la Montana

The main highlight of this version is that Mapkalo now reaches San Jose de la Montana, Antioquia. This expands the Colombian-route feeling inside ATS and opens another area for players who enjoy mountain roads, demanding curves, and local driving identity.

For players following the map through MundoATS, this kind of expansion matters because it is not only about adding distance. It also gives the route more continuity, supports longer trips, and strengthens the server experience when multiple users drive together.

Finca de los Tetrapolitos

The update also includes or highlights Finca de los Tetrapolitos, a location that adds more personality to the route and helps the map feel less generic. In a project like Mapkalo, these details give the road memory, visual references, and recognizable points during the trip.

If you plan to join the server or test the new version in single player, it is worth exploring this area calmly and seeing how it connects with the progress toward San Jose de la Montana.

Barbosa - Yarumal route remaster

Another important change is the remaster of the section from the Barbosa crossing to Yarumal. This improvement is meant to make the route feel more polished visually and while driving.

In practice, a remaster like this can change the whole experience: better environmental detail, clearer road reading, curves with a stronger sense of progression, and a route that feels better to drive, especially with traffic, rain, night driving, or convoy sessions.

For MundoATS, this section matters because it connects important parts of the route. Improving how it looks and drives makes the update more than a map expansion: it becomes a direct quality upgrade.

ATS 1.60 arrived quietly, but includes important changes

American Truck Simulator also entered the 1.60 stage through open beta. For many players, the update arrived fairly quietly, without much extra noise around it, but the official Steam/SCS announcement includes important changes for the community.

The main points include Game Radio, a new in-game radio system; visual improvements through the interior material system; lighting tweaks; company paint jobs for trucks and trailers; a job details widget; and an expanded rest mechanic that gives players more control over how long they sleep and when they wake up.

As with every new ATS version, the safest recommendation is to update calmly. If you use Mapkalo, check your mods, avoid mixing versions, and do not migrate your main profile to the beta if you depend on the server.

MundoATS server: still on ATS 1.59 for now

The recommended route for this stage remains MundoATS. From the Mapkalo page, you can review updated downloads, confirm the required files, and prepare the game, but remember that the server stays on ATS 1.59 until SCS releases the public stable 1.60 version on Steam.

If you already play on the server, stay on version 1.59 to join without issues. If you test the ATS 1.60 beta, do it on a separate profile and do not mix files or profiles with the 1.59 server environment.

MundoATS will continue posting news, guides, and updates so Mapkalo, the ATS 1.60 beta, and the 1.59 server stay clear for everyone. See you on the road.
